All the Western Digital Drives we sell (WD and UltraStar) are covered by Limited warranties, as specified by Western Digital. Limited Warranties mean that you get a full replacement in the first year, but a declined value in the subsequent years.

Hard drive warranties only cover the Hardware, data recovery is not included in warranty.

1. No limited warranty is provided by WD unless your WD Product ("Product") was purchased from an authorized distributor or authorized reseller.

2. If your Product was purchased as a component integrated within a system by a system manufacturer, no limited warranty is provided by WD.

3. The term of your limited warranty period shall commence on the purchase date appearing on your purchase receipt from an authorized distributor or authorized reseller and extends only for the period of time set forth in the Product documentation.
